A well-liked everyday carry fixed blade from TOPS has just been redeployed in a special edition with a special cause behind it. The 3 Pointer Rally Edition carries the flag for the nonprofit organization Rally Humans with a custom set of scales and a special imprint on the blade.
Normally we start with a description of the knife, but in this case we’ll first shed some light on Rally Humans. Rally Humans takes a grassroots approach to crisis aid, focusing on individual families or even single people, and rallying around them in their time of need. This support can come in all different forms, tailored to the situation at hand. It’s an interesting, heartening approach, and it’s appealing to see how a small organization can reset its sets and make a massive change to one person’s life, rather than doling out just a little bit of change to a lot of peoples’ lives.
It’s a great cause, and one that TOPS is supporting with this special 3 Pointer variation. The changes are cosmetic here, which makes sense given that, prior to being tapped for this project, the standard 3 Pointer was already a fairly customizable piece to begin with, with swappable scales as well as the capability of being carried scaleless to shave off a little bit of weight. So this 3 Pointer sports tan Micarta scales with the Rally Humans crossed sabers insignia on it – a design that’s echoed on the blade, in a zoomed in etching that also incorporates the Rally Humans skull logo.
As you might expect, a portion of all proceeds from sale of this 3 Pointer will go to Rally Humans. There’s an awesome backstory to this collaboration between TOPS and Rally Humans, by the way: one of the folks that Rally Humans helped expressed the wish to make a knife of his own, and TOPS was the company that helped to make that wish come true. It’s cool to see that the support for this org didn’t stop there – and that the company was willing to put a knife made by their own CEO, Leo Espinoza, behind a push for additional support.
