PolyTac 1X — Streamlight’s Multi-Fuel Flashlight

When it comes to handheld lights, versatility matters, especially when the job, the range bag, or the truck doesn’t care what battery you have on hand. Streamlight’s new PolyTac 1X is designed to keep running no matter what you feed it, wrapping multi-fuel flexibility in a compact, duty-ready polymer body.

PolyTac 1X Multi-Fuel Power

The PolyTac 1X is built around flexibility. It runs on Streamlight’s SL-B9 rechargeable Li-Ion battery pack, a CR123A lithium cell, or a standard AA (alkaline or lithium). That means you can recharge at home, toss a CR123A in your kit, or grab an AA from just about anywhere and stay in the fight.

Output varies by power source, but performance remains solid across the board. With the SL-B9 rechargeable pack, the PolyTac 1X pushes 500 lumens and 18,000 candela with a beam reaching out to 268 meters. CR123A users still get a respectable 350 lumens and 219 meters of throw, while an AA delivers 150 lumens with extended runtime.

Programming

Streamlight’s TEN-TAP programmable tail switch lets users tailor the light to their mission. Choose between High/Strobe/Low, High-only, or Low/High mode sets. Whether you want a simple high-output click or a low-light admin mode, the PolyTac 1X can be configured without digging through menus or fiddling with side buttons.

The push-button tailcap also keeps the control interface familiar to anyone running duty lights, with momentary and constant-on functionality.

Built for Abuse

The PolyTac 1X sticks with Streamlight’s proven polymer construction, featuring a high-impact nylon polymer body with a rocky stipple texture for grip. The lens is made from BOROFLOAT glass, offering resistance to heat and impact, while O-ring seals keep water out. It’s rated IPX7 waterproof to one meter for 30 minutes and impact-tested to three meters.

At just under five inches long and weighing around three ounces depending on the battery, it’s compact enough for pocket carry but robust enough for duty use. A removable two-way pocket clip adds everyday carry flexibility, and the light is serialized for asset tracking.

Duty-Ready Versatility

Whether you’re a cop, a military user, an industrial professional, or just someone who likes a reliable light in their kit, the PolyTac 1X checks a lot of boxes. Multi-fuel capability means fewer dead lights and fewer excuses. Programmable modes make it adaptable, and Streamlight’s reputation for durable, hard-use lighting rounds out the package.

Backed by a limited lifetime warranty and built in the USA, the PolyTac 1X is another practical, no-nonsense tool in Streamlight’s lineup, one that’s ready for duty, range, or everyday carry.
