Fox River Socks Step Up When Needed

Yes, I know. Socks may not be the most exciting item to discuss, but I’m betting you haven’t experienced Fox River’s Wick Dry Military Sock before. This medium-weight, military-centric sock offers features for hardcore tactical needs, as well as for everyday comfortable use. I was sent a few pairs to examine, and my feet are forever thankful. These socks elevated my wearing experience from a boot-centric necessity into a daily-use preference. Still doubting if they’re that significant? Read on for my foot-tastic review.

Materials and Seamless Craftsmanship

The blend of materials used for the construction of the Wick Dry Military Sock is 70% polypropylene, 28% nylon, and 2% spandex. Now, this might not mean much to the average person. However, this combination allows the perfect balance between rigidity, durability, and elasticity. Simply put, it creates an optimal fit.

Additionally, the yarn used is multifilament. This creates a more abrasive-resistant body with less likelihood of tears or wear-down points.

Discreet Characteristics

At a quick glance, a sock is just a sock. It’s difficult to determine if it has any distinguishable characteristics that set it apart from similar versions. The Wick Dry Military Sock may look ordinary, yet it offers numerous discreet features.

It’s exclusive Wick Dry technology (something you can’t recognize with your eyes) keeps feet dry, which is vital when outdoors. It also has a URfit System, which provides invisible support at the arch you can’t see but certainly can feel.

Finally, like a memory foam pillow, the memory-knit fabric holds its shape consistently and won’t twist or bulge like other socks. I’ll also add that its seamless construction, which isn’t a prominent feature yet is vitally important for comfort, is a key feature. There are no raised stitching or clumped fabric, but only smooth seams that blend into one another, as if it’s one continuous piece of fabric.

Fit and Feel

No matter how good socks look or how many features they integrate, the make-or-break category is how they fit. I was gifted two pairs, and with both myself and my son trying them on, we had the same initial comment: they felt incredible.

Too often, socks are too tight, actually leaving an imprint on your leg as they strangulate. The Fox River Wick Dry Military Sock comfortably clung to our legs without tightness, keeping the sock in place.

The socks were not overly thick. But they did provide noticeable comfort when walking on hard surfaces like concrete and indoor tile. I chose size large for shoe sizes nine through eleven, and the fit was ideal. It wasn’t tight nor loose. I would like to discuss the cons of the Wick Dry socks, but even after wearing them all day, with and without shoes, I couldn’t find any red flags to report.

Sizes, Colors, and Pricing

It surprised me that these socks are priced incredibly well at $15.00 a pair. This price is comparable to basic, unremarkable versions in department stores. Additionally, you can choose from four sizes: small, medium, large, and X-large.

As for colors, Fox River offers a well-rounded assortment with Army Green, Coyote Brown, Black, and Foliage Green. The socks offer a streamlined, simple two-tone design that goes with just about any outfit or footwear choice.

In-the-Field and Everyday Wear

Though Fox River Wick Dry Military Socks exude outdoor ruggedness and tactical style, I definitely am going to continue to wear these as part of my regular clothing ensemble. Why wouldn’t I? They are extremely comfortable, keep my feet dry, and won’t deteriorate at an incredible rate like other sock brands.

I also have to repeat that the price of these exceptional socks is so affordable that you can fill up your sock drawer and not break the bank. Comfort, quality, and price with the Wick Dry Military Sock will get you started on the right foot.
