After three years on its lonesome, the carbon fiber/MagnaCut Mini Adamas has a big brother at last. Benchmade has just released the full-size Adamas with the premium material treatment we first saw debuted on baby bear back in 2023.

The Benchmade Adamas, a veteran in the company’s lineup, is almost the flagship of what they used to call the Black Class – basically the hard use/tactical knives. It was designed by Shane Sibert, who as a custom maker and production knife designer has always prioritized burly builds and tank-like users. In his long working relationship with Benchmade Sibert has put out a number of pieces, but the Adamas will always be to Sibert as the 940 is to the late, great Warren Osborne: his signature piece, and one with more than a decade now of field work in the hands of users all over the world.

This profile has been well-known for many years

As a full-size Adamas model, this CF variant has a blade length of 3.82 inches, giving that handsome wide stance drop point a lot of room to work with. And because the material choices on this version match that of the Mini Adamas from 2023, we are looking at MagnaCut for the steel. When we covered that Mini Adamas in 2023, we said we had written more words about MagnaCut than any other steel – and in 2026, even as newer formulae come out, that remains just as true today. Good performance across the board makes MagnaCut a solid choice for hard user, as the Adamas is meant to be.

The handle scales are full slabs of luscious marbled carbon fiber, a material that has been one of the gold standards for premium handle scales for years, and deservedly so. Compared to G-10, CF helps to save a little weight and, while the Adamas is never going to be (nor was meant to be) the ultralight backpacker’s choice, it is about a third of an ounce lighter than the G-10 model, tipping the scales at 6.2 oz. And there’s more good news for those of you who favor the automatic Adamas variant: it is also available in this new trim level.

The CF/MagnaCut Adamas is available now.
