Civivi Iron Tide Rolling in Soon

Blade Show starts bright and early tomorrow, and one of the knives the Civivi is bringing with them will surely be the Iron Tide. Designed by a new, pirate-themed collaborator, the Iron Tide packs in all the solid EDC essentials.

Pete’s Pirate Life is a brand created by Pete McKinnon, a professional photographer with tons of credits, projects, and general operations to his name. The Iron Tide isn’t even his first knife project, with several other limited run pieces rolling out over the years alongside lots of other goods – like a hand forged axe, a hand forged hammer, and a fountain pen (presumably not forged by hand). This is, however, McKinnon’s first collab with Civivi.

The other color option available for the Iron Tide

The 3.24-inch clip point blade implemented on the Iron Tide provides a classic, dare we say timeless, geometry for daily cuttin’, backed up by a stalwart from the Civivi stainless steel circle: 14C28N. These two elements work in tandem while the user works, providing good overall performance for the price. When it comes to getting the Iron Tide into the open position, McKinnon provided both a flipper and a pair of thumbstuds here.

The handle is made from iron – no, just kidding. It’s actually aluminum, with a button lock setup sandwiched between the two scales. This is a rare Civivi piece whose clip is non-reversible, but it’s rare in another way: despite being a wallet-friendly piece, the Iron Tide comes with a sculpted pocket clip made from iron – kidding again! It’s made from titanium. In total, the Iron Tide weighs 3.66 oz.

This one is shipping at the end of June.
