U.S. Issues “Truce” To Ukraine And Russia, But It’s NOT An Ultimatum?

U.S. Issues “Truce” To Ukraine And Russia, But It’s NOT An Ultimatum?

The United States’ ruling class has issued what can only be described as an ultimatum to Russia and Ukraine. The U.S. seeks to broker a truce between the two warring nations, saying Ukraine needs to “say yes” to this deal or Washington will “walk away from this process.”

That sure sounds like an ultimatum. However, Moscow insists that it is not. “The U.S. continues its mediation efforts, and we certainly welcome them,” he said. “Nuanced discussions of proposals for a resolution are essential to bridge differences.”

Zelensky Rejects Russian Recognition of Crimea

On Wednesday, Vice President J.D. Vance said that President Donald Trump’s administration had presented a “very explicit proposal” to the principal parties in the Ukraine conflict, stating, “It’s time for them to either say yes or for the United States to walk away from this process.”

During a press conference the same day, Peskov dismissed a journalist’s characterization of Vance’s comments as an ultimatum. “The US continues its mediation efforts, and we certainly welcome them,” he said. “Nuanced discussions of proposals for a resolution are essential to bridge differences.”

Russian officials have previously warned that Volodymyr Zelensky, whose presidential term expired last year, could sabotage any serious attempts to de-escalate the conflict, contending that his self-interest compels him to continue the hostilities “to the last Ukrainian.”

Zelensky has also said that any suggestion that Crimea remain a territory of the Russian Federation is unacceptable. The previous administration seemed content to allow U.S. weapons to strike the territory, while the current administration in Washington is trying to get Zelensky to release his mental stranglehold and strange attachment to Crimea.

Will the U.S. eventually bail on Ukraine? Has there been enough tolerance of the war mongering from Zelensky? Or will the U.S. continue to walk back its threats and support the flailing regime? Let us know what you think in the comments below!
