Trump Threatens Cuba: Make a Deal With The U.S. “Before It’s Too Late”

Trump Threatens Cuba: Make a Deal With The U.S. “Before It’s Too Late”

United States ruler Donald Trump has threatened Cuba, giving the country an ultimatum. Trump wants Cuba to strike a deal with Washington “before it’s too late.”

American rhetoric toward Havana has sharpened in recent weeks, unfortunately, as the war mongering spreads. The U.S. has kept a comprehensive trade embargo on the Caribbean nation since the 1960s. While the Obama and Biden administrations took steps to normalize relations, Trump reinstated Cuba on the US list of state sponsors of terrorism.

Cuba, which is a close ally of Venezuela and a major beneficiary of its subsidized oil, has seen supplies from the OPEC nation dry up since early January. Cuba will no longer receive Venezuelan oil and money, warning the island to make a deal with Washington “before it’s too late.”

After Attacking Venezuela, Trump Threatens 3 More Latin Countries

“There will be no more oil or money going to Cuba – zero. I strongly suggest they make a deal before it is too late,” Trump wrote on Truth Social on Sunday, accoridng to The National News. Trump claimed that Cuba has provided “security services” in exchange for Venezuelan oil. More than 30 Cubans were killed in the US military action that ousted the ruler, Nicolas Maduro, in Venezuela last week. Havana stated that those killed were on a military mission in the country.

“Cuba lived, for many years, on large amounts of OIL and MONEY from Venezuela,” Trump added. “I strongly suggest they make a deal, BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE,” he added.

“Venezuela doesn’t need protection any more from the thugs and extortionists who held them hostage for so many years,” Trump wrote. “Venezuela now has the United States of America, the most powerful military in the world [by far], to protect them, and protect them we will.”

There Are No Good Outcomes in Trump’s Latest Attempt at Regime Change in Venezuela

This war with Venezuela started when the U.S. ruling class decided to lie to the public and commit war crimes over “narco terrorism.”

War Crimes Stacking Up: Three More Killed In US Attack On A Venezuelan Boat

Senior Trump officials, including Secretary of State Marco Rubio, have made clear they believe that the U.S. intervention in Venezuela could push Cuba to the brink.

Havana responded by accusing the U.S. of destabilizing the region. “Like any country, Cuba has the absolute right to import fuel from those markets willing to export it, and that exercise their own right to develop their trade relations without interference or subordination to the unilateral coercive measures of the US,” Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla wrote in a post on X after Trump’s comments.

As the escalation continues, we appear to be on the precipice of a war with several Latin countries. Will this expand to a larger hot war? What do you think? Discuss in the comments!
