Copenhagen Makes It “Abundantly Clear” That Greenland Is A Part Of Denmark

Copenhagen Makes It “Abundantly Clear” That Greenland Is A Part Of Denmark

Denmark is pushing back against the rhetoric of the United States and its desire to acquire the Arctic island of Greenland. Denmark’s ambassador to Washington, Jesper Moller Sorensen, has said he made it “abundantly clear” that Greenland belongs to Denmark.

On Monday, Republican Congressman Randy Fin introduced the Greenland Annexation and Statehood Act. The bill is aimed at authorizing the US president to take “whatever steps necessary to annex or acquire Greenland,” and mandates a report to Congress outlining the measures required for its eventual admission as a state.

Accoridng to a report by RT, this bill is supposed to authorize the U.S. president to take “whatever steps necessary to annex or acquire Greenland,” and mandates a report to Congress outlining the measures required for its eventual admission as a state. The U.S. is essentially giving itself permission to steal the tax cattle of a different ruling class.

Last week, U.S. ruler Donald Trump said that he would acquire Greenland “one way or another.” He also continues to argue that Denmark is unable to provide security for the world’s largest island, claiming it is “covered with Russian and Chinese ships.” The allegations have been rejected by a number of officials.

Several rulers are attempting to convince the public that the takeover of a sovereign island is “necessary.” Morality of governments aside, Greenland does not appear to want to peacefully give up Greenland, and the U.S. won’t rule out taking it by force.

China has pushed back on the U.S.’s claim that it needs Greenland for national security reasons. Beijing condemns this rhetoric as a pretext for expanding the obviously unwanted U.S. influence in the region. While Moscow has yet to officially respond to Trump’s latest remarks, Russia has warned against Arctic militarization and said Greenland’s future should be decided by its people.
