German-Palestinian-American filmmaker Lexi Alexander pushed an X post appearing to cheer on the death of Bank of America executive Erin Piacenti on Tuesday, referencing accused UnitedHealthcare CEO assassin Luigi Mangione.

Piacenti was identified as the victim of a deadly stabbing in New York City’s Times Square on Monday where a woman carrying a knife also wounded another person before police shot and killed the suspect. Piacenti was in her first week back at Bank of America after spending five months caring for her newborn daughter.

In response to the news, Alexander, who directed the 2005 drama “Green Street Hooligans” and the 2008 film “Punisher: War Zone,” reposted a headline of the report alongside an image of Batman staring up at a bat signal that was replaced with Mangione’s face.

The post has since been labeled as containing “sensitive content,” though it is still available on her account.

Alexander also dismissed critics of her post, suggesting they were part of a “hasbara,” or an Israeli public relations operation.

“Hasbara bots out in full swing just like the first time we asked people to boycott BofA,” Alexander wrote, linking to an article citing Bank of America’s previous support for Israel.

In another X post, Alexander retweeted a woman saying she “didn’t care” about Piacenti’s death and faced death threats from “Zionists” as a result.

“They released the hasbara bot farm just like the first time when we asked people to boycott Bofa. Israel doesn’t care about the woman who got killed, they care about the positive rating Bofa gave them in the middle of a genocide. There is huge money at stake,” Alexander wrote in response on Wednesday.

Fox News Digital reached out to Alexander for comment.

Alexander’s response to Piacenti’s death resembled the surprising wave of support Mangione received after allegedly killing UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson in 2024.

Journalist and New York Post contributor Douglas Murray remarked on the rise of Americans, particularly far-left Americans, justifying violence following the killings of Thompson and Charlie Kirk, during an appearance on “America’s Newsroom” in 2025.

“So many people have made excuses for him when it’s really a very straightforward case,” Murray said. “Do people have the right, or should they be justified, in taking things into their own hands and murdering other Americans in cold blood on the street? Yes or no?”

He added, “We also have to address this question of why so many people, including some prominent politicians in this country, have made excuses for the use of violence.”

Police are still investigating a motive behind the knife attack, though authorities and family members noted the suspect had a history of mental illness.
