Armed Robbery Attempt at Houston Strip Mall Ends in Fatal Shooting
HOUSTON, TX — A robbery attempt at a business located in a strip mall at 1570 South Dairy Ashford Road ended in a fatal shooting early Monday morning, January 20, 2025. The incident occurred around 5:10 a.m. and remains under investigation.
According to the Houston Police Department (HPD), officers responding to the scene discovered a 16-year-old male suspect with gunshot wounds. Paramedics pronounced him deceased at the scene. His identity is being confirmed by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
Investigators reported that two armed suspects entered the business, attempting to commit a robbery. During the attempted crime, a shootout ensued between the suspects and employees of the business. One of the suspects was fatally shot, while the other fled the scene on foot. No injuries were reported among the employees.
The case will be presented to a Harris County grand jury for further review.
