What Set’s The Vidarr Bipod Apart

Bipods are often overlooked for semi-automatic platforms, shooters associating them solely with bolt-action rifles or dismissing them due to added bulk and weight. The Spartan Precision Vidarr Bipod changes that with its lightweight, quick-detach, and compact design, making it an ideal choice for hunting, varmint control, and Designated Marksman Rifle (DMR) setups. In this Spartan Precision Vidarr Bipod review, I explore how this bipod enhances your shooting experience by offering:
● Increased stability for precision shots

What Set’s The Vidarr Bipod Apart
Disc-Lok Adapter System
A standout feature of the Vidarr Bipod is its Disc-Lok Adapter System, a low-profile, quick-detach mechanism available for M-Lok or Picatinny rails. This system allows you to use one bipod across multiple rifles, eliminating the need to purchase separate bipods for each firearm. Simply install a Disc-Lok adapter on your rifle, and it becomes bipod-compatible in seconds. This versatility is a game-changer, as you can swiftly attach or remove the bipod based on your needs. For example, when shooting off-hand and wanting to reduce weight, I detach the Vidarr and easily stow it in my shooting belt’s drop pouch.

Lightweight & Low-Profile Design
For hunters, varmint shooters or those using a precision AR, a heavy or bulky bipod is a dealbreaker. The Vidarr Bipod offers a sleek design that’s less likely to get snagged in the backcountry or on barricades, slings, etc. and only weighs 9.5 ounces. When attached to your rifle, the Vidarr Bipod extends less than 2” from the bottom of your rifle and the collapsible legs can be rotated forwards or in reverse making it extremely manageable. When the bipod is removed, it’s extremely compact at about 1.5” tall, less than 3.5” wide and less than 8” long, making it very easy to stow in a pouch, pack or pocket when not in use.
Rapid & Quiet Deployment
Being able to quickly and quietly deploy my bipod when I need it is a must. Nothing is more frustrating during a match or a hunt than having to fuss with your bipods to get them set up. The Vidarr Bipod is designed so that you can simply swipe the legs down and into place without having to press any buttons or manipulate the legs in any way to adjust them. This rapid deployment feature can be adjusted for whether you prefer your bipods facing forwards or in reverse. The spring-assisted legs offer seamless height adjustment with a quick-release lever to your preferred height.

Modular & Terrain-Ready
In the real world there’s rarely a perfectly level shooting position. The Vidarr Bipod accounts for this with a locking lever that allows you to rapidly level then lock your bipod into place. The legs can also be adjusted to 45 degree angles, forward or backwards. I’ve found this extremely valuable when shooting in positions where the barrier, rock, table, etc. is shallow and I can simply put the bipods in a reverse 45 degree position in order to fit the rifle onto the barrier.
If you need to raise your bipods, the spring assisted legs give you around 2.5” of adjustment. In case that isn’t enough for your needs, Spartan Precision’s modular design allows for customizable leg lengths, with optional longer legs available for specific needs. For additional versatility, its tungsten carbide tips, paired with removable rubber boots, provide excellent grip on diverse surfaces like rock or wood, ensuring stability without excessive weight.

Wrapping It Up
A bipod is not always necessary, but they are a game changer in certain scenarios. The Spartan Precision Vidarr Bipod alleviates the pain points of bulk and weight with the added benefit of removing it when you don’t need it and being able to use it on multiple rifles. I personally love how I can quickly swap it between my 16” DMR AR-15, .22 LR rifle and hunting rifle without adding much weight or size to the rifles.
I’ve tested the Spartan Precision Vidarr Bipod quick-detach bipod across multiple platforms. It’s proven to be a game-changer, offering unmatched stability without the bulk or weight of traditional bipods. I was skeptical that it would hold up on certain terrain, but its rock-solid performance proved me wrong. While its price is slightly higher than some options, the Vidarr Bipod’s versatility, rapid deployment and ability to swap between rifles justify the investment. Whether you’re stalking game in the backcountry, fighting off tyranny or simply plinking in the backyard, this lightweight bipod will enhance your accuracy and adaptability.
