Ultra-Lightweight Upper & Lower Receivers

Even with the wide variety of out-of-the-box rifles at our disposal, many of us still enjoy building a gun from the ground up. The degree of control and customization this provides is worth the effort for the serious rifle owner. Two of the most important components are the upper and lower receivers. Now, 1791 Industries has released a set of well-made Ultra-Lightweight Upper & Lower Receivers to serve our needs.

Ultra-Lightweight Upper & Lower Receivers – Lightweight Performance

1791 Industries LiteRaider ultralight AR-15 LRM4 upper and lower receivers use a Metal Matrix Composite (MMC) that is 33% lighter than aluminum yet just as strong and durable. These products are designed to use the benefits of this material, offering comparable strength to 7075-T6 aluminum but with better thermal resistance and less weight.

Both the LRM4 Upper Receiver and LRM4 Lower Receiver are the lightest metal receivers available, built to Mil-Spec. The LiteRaider stripped lower receiver weighs just 6.2 ounces, while the new LiteRaider stripped upper receiver weighs just 4.8 ounces. This is significantly lighter than typical aluminum receivers while offering more strength, vibration dampening, and durability. The combined weight reduction of the upper and lower receivers is crucial for building a lightweight AR-15 or duty-grade rifle without sacrificing strength, durability, or performance.

Ceramic Nanoparticles

The new 1791 LiteRaider material combines pure metals with ceramic nanoparticles, offering superior vibration dampening, high-temperature resistance, and exceptional strength, yet it weighs less than the same volume of 7075-T6 aluminum. With the 1791 LiteRaider, shooters and enthusiasts can experience cutting-edge technology that enhances functionality without compromising durability or adding weight.

4.8 Ounce Upper

“We are developing this technology specifically for the military and law enforcement duty space. However, as ardent patriots here at 1791, we wanted to make it available to citizens at the same time, because everyone deserves a five-and-a-half-pound fighting rifle, especially the citizenry.”
