Techy New Tanto on the Way from We Knife Co.

New week, new We Knife Co. folder. There are lots of prolific companies out there but very few can keep up with the pace of the We juggernaut. Today we’re taking a look at the Zentron, a techy tanto flipper that comes from the ever-busy in-house design crew.
Something about the American tanto shape – with its stark, angular divide between primary and secondary edges – lends itself to the futuristic, technical styles. The Zentron’s blade is a perfect case study in this; it comfortably earns the “mid-size” and “hard use” tags with a 3.48-inch cutting edge. Rendered in perennial We Knife fave M390, its profile is a workhorse with attitude, for sure. It’s also a dual-opener, equipped with both thumb studs and a flipper tab.

The Zentron handle showcases We’s obvious, time-tested facility with machining. Here they’ve sculpted a handle with two height levels, multiple chamfered cutouts, and a sculpted titanium titanium pocket clip with a little bit of extra flair in the form of a pencil-thin white chevron near its tip. Needless to say, the whole handle is made from titanium, but it’s not a frame lock; no, in this case We chose to build in a button lock mechanism – a device they’ve certainly been showing a lot of favor towards as of late.
We always brings out their knives in multiple colorations and finishes, and the Zentron is no exception on this point. There are four different anodizations available, including blue, dark grey, complete blackout and, for those who like to keep things simple, a plain Jane titanium model. Given that these are just color differences and not material alterations, the total carry weight is uniform across the entire Zentron line, listed at 4.61 oz.
The Zentron is listed as “Coming soon” – and, with We, that is usually an accurate descriptor, so if you’re interested in this one, keep your eyes peeled.
