I can’t think of a more anticipated overland event each year than the one that started it all for me. Overland Expo West will always be special to me, not just because it introduced me to the word “overland,” but because it’s where I first found the community that defines this lifestyle. Every year, the event keeps growing. There are more people, more vendors, more top-notch instructors, and even more positive energy filling every part of Fort Tuthill County Park.
The People
This is a one-of-a-kind chance to see the biggest gathering of overlanders in the industry. You can explore over 400 exhibitors, join expert-led education sessions, check out some of the country’s most impressive vehicle builds, and connect with the community that makes this event so special.
There are more than 220 education sessions and live demos. You can find the full schedule in the app or online.

The Vendors
As I mentioned earlier, this year’s event featured more than 400 companies, vendors, and brands connected to overlanding, covering almost every part of the industry. There were small family-run startups and some of the biggest names in overlanding. The expo floor was full of new ideas, creative products, and gear made for life on the road.
The products on display covered almost every part of the outdoor experience. There were practical campsite essentials, eco-friendly sanitation solutions, safe campfire systems, and the latest vehicle builds. Whether you wanted rooftop tents, suspension upgrades, cooking gear, recovery tools, or ways to make camping more comfortable, you could find inspiration everywhere.

The Rides
What would an overland event be without the rigs? At Overland Expo West, you’ll see vehicles of every shape and size, from compact “mighty mini” builds to huge expedition vehicles that stand out on the fairgrounds.
Some vehicles are built for tough adventures and competitions like the Rebelle Rally. Others are set up for weekend getaways to help you relax after a busy week. There are also dream builds—fully equipped rigs made for long-term, off-grid travel, so you can live comfortably for weeks or even months.

My personal favorites are always the vintage rides. They might be a bit worn and weathered, but every dent and scratch is a badge of honor. These marks show the adventures they’ve had and the memories made far from the pavement.
