The 1911 is, without question, one of the most iconic handguns in the world. It has been tinkered with, modified, and improved over decades. One evolution of this gun that I am a fan of is turning it into a double-stack. This gives us all the glory of the 1911 with additional ammo. A company that has turned the double stack into art is Alchemy Custom Weaponry. My favorite is the Quantico Hi-Cap.
Quantico Hi-Cap – Double Stack Art
This pistol features Alchemy’s accuracy guarantee of better than 1.5″ at 25 yards, an ambi thumb safety, red fiber optic front sight, extended slide stop, and a 30Lpi hand checkered mag catch. The bead blast blue finish is entirely unique in the 1911/HI Cap market and retains as much of the John Browning style as possible, and will show those classic signs of honest wear the more you run it. However, Alchemy doesn’t think JMB would mind if you choose the optional hard Chrome or DLC finishes.

9mm and.45 ACP
Just when you thought the Quantico HiCap couldn’t get any more American, they’ve decided to offer it in both 9mm and the 2 World War-winning .45 ACP.
