Based on Mossberg’s cleaner-running and redesigned 940 Pro gas-operating system, this feature-rich, optic-ready platform is available in 8-Shot or 5-Shot versions with 18.5-inch AccuChoke-compatible barrels.
940 Pro Tactical SPX Details
Like all 940 Pro shotguns, the 940 Pro Tactical SPX has corrosion-resistant internal parts and finishes including nickel boron-coated gas piston, magazine tube, hammer, and sear. The cleaner-running gas vent system allows for longer cleaning intervals and smooth, reliable operation.

The 940 Pro Tactical SPX comes loaded with premium, performance-driven features right out of the box. It includes an optic-ready receiver for direct mounting of micro dot optics (RMSc footprint), along with a drilled and tapped receiver for added versatility. An oversized ergonomic bolt release and knurled, extended charging handle ensure fast operation. The enlarged and beveled loading port pairs with an elongated, pinch-free elevator and bright orange anodized follower for smoother, safer reloads. It also features an 18.5-inch Accu-Choke barrel with a Cylinder choke tube (additional choke tubes sold separately) and an extended magazine tube offering 7+1 round capacity with 2.75-inch shells. Rounding out the shotgun is an adjustable stock for customizable length of pull (LOP), cast, and drop; giving shooters a perfect fit for any mission or range session.

Mossberg 940 Pro Tactical SPX Updated Features :
- An innovative forend design that features integrated heat shield, two QD cups, three M-LOK mounting slots (3, 6, and 9 o’clock positions), and Mossberg’s signature texturing.
- Stabilizing barrel clamp with two-sided M-LOK mounting slots and swivel studs.
- Two QD mounting cups on stock (right and left) allow the sling mount to be positioned in 90-degree increments (3, 6, and 9 o’clock positions).
- Rear Ghost Ring and front fiber optic sights with protective, low-profile wings. Simply remove the Ghost Ring sight and the receiver is optic-ready for the direct mounting of micro dot sights.
- Adapter plates provided for optic-ready receiver for mounting RMR, Docter, and Leupold footprints to the optic cut in the receiver which is covered by certain patents and patent pending.
- Redesigned, oversized ambidextrous safety.
- Redesigned one-piece magazine tube for ease of maintenance and improved reliability.
- A detachable sleeve protects the magazine tube and secures forend.
