The original MK12 Special Purpose Receiver was born out of a list of needs in the SOCOM community and a knowledge that the M16 and M4 as they were could be optimized. The Special Purpose Receiver evolved into dedicated Special Purpose Rifles and as the AR-15 evolved through the 21st Century so did that rifle.
Enter The Zion-15 SPR
The Zion-15 SPR represents the current cutting edge production state of that evolution. It’s 18-inch, 1:8 twist 5R barrel is optimized to stabilize the vast array of 5.56 and .223 precision match ammunition. The M-LOK and ARCA floated rail gives the rifle an array of stabilization options from bags and bipods to tripods and sticks. The two-stage precision trigger by Timney, exclusively for the Zion series, makes each press count by granting the shooter precise control and minimal disruption of the rifle when the shot breaks. The Timney trigger is miles ahead of the original M16A1 automatic select-fire triggers in the early MK12s.

It Will Deliver
Add your precision geared optic of choice (or run a dot, it’s your gun) with some match 5.56 or .223 ammunition and the Zion-15 SPR will deliver that simple, repeatable, predictably consistent performance trigger press after trigger press. Know where your round is going to go time after time at anything within about 900 yards. That’s the purpose behind special purpose.
