First Look: Ruger SR1911 Street Edition

Sturm, Ruger & Company has just launched a new series in the SR1911 product line: the new Ruger SR1911 “Street Edition” Series. This new series consists of five different engraved Ruger SR1911 pistols that commemorate Sturm, Ruger & Company’s rich manufacturing tradition. All new Ruger SR1911 “Street Edition” Series are chambered for the quintessential .45 ACP pistol cartridge, and are also configured in a lightweight Commander configuration. This means that they’re built on aluminum frames and shorter 4.25-inch slides. Besides their unique engravings, these pistols slides all include the Ruger logo and an American bald eagle, a classic symbol of American freedom. Drift adjustable, Novak three-dot sights allow for quick and easy target acquisition.

Moreover, one of these five models directly celebrates the storied gun company’s 75th anniversary which took place in 2024. This specific pistol will be adorned with the 75th anniversary logo and “75 Station St.,” the address of the Red Barn where Ruger’s iconic manufacturing tradition began. This 1st model “Street Edition” pistol starts shipping this month, November 2024.

The other four “Street Edition” Ruger SR1911s will be shipping later this year. The other guns that make part of this collection will also commemorate Sturm, Ruger & Co’s other manufacturing facilities in New England, North Carolina and Arizona.
