First Look: Aguila 30 Round 5.56 NATO Ammo Packs

With convenience and common sense in mind, Aguila Ammunition is now selling its 55-grain full metal jacket 5.56 NATO rifle cartridges in packaging and boxes with 30 total cartridges. The standard magazine capacity for AR-15 pattern firearms and many others that chamber and fire 5.56 NATO rifle cartridges.
“We’re always looking for ways to make things easier for our users, and this packaging concept just makes sense,” said Marketing Director of Aguila Ammunition. “Our goal is to deliver high-quality, reliable ammunition while improving the overall shooter experience. With the introduction of this 30-round box, we’ve made a solution that’s both simple and impactful.”
This simple move comes partially because traditionally, centerfire rifle ammunition regardless of caliber tends to be packaged in single boxes of 20 rounds, a number that while even, does not correlate to the standard capacity quantity of most 5.56 NATO magazines.
This Aguila Ammunition is loaded to standard NATO specifications which includes a rifle cartridge that’s loaded to higher pressures and is suitable for firearms cut for true 5.56 NATO chambers. The 55 grain spitzer bullet that’s loaded in these 5.56 NATO cartridges is a standard bullet weigh that works well across the entire spectrum of 5.56mm firearm barrel twists, ranging from fast 1:7 twists all the way to the slower 1:14 barrel twists that were part of the original Armalite design.
