Ed Brown Fueled Prodigy Comp: Electrifying SA’s Double Stack!

The Springfield Armory Prodigy series of pistols created some big news, brining a major company production to the double-stack 1911 category. Then as the line matured, Springfield released the Prodigy Comp with a 4.25-inch bull barrel and integral compensator. Now the Ed Brown Fueled Prodigy Comp takes that evolution even further.

Ed Brown Fueled Prodigy Comp

We are huge fans of Ed Brown’s work via the Fueled Series. As such, we’ve performed full evaluations on the Fueled M&P 2.0 and MP-F4. Fueled Series pistols take great builds from major manufacturers and take them even further. The Ed Brown semi-custom enhancements address reliability, carry characteristics, accuracy, upgraded components and even the stylistic upgrades. Now Ed Brown takes its second build on the Springfield Armory Prodigy platform.

The Fuel upgrade includes a full reliability package, including fitting a machined extractor and throating the barrel. The entire exterior edges get dehorned. Ed Brown flattens out and serrates the top of the slide. The build features a recessed barrel crown and an Ed Brown Beavertail and Fully Machined Ambi Safety. EDM trigger components improve the fire control. Finally, a black Gen4 coating, identical in color to traditional matted finished blueing, improves the wear resistance.
