At approximately 9:04 a.m. on Monday, August 31, 2026, emergency dispatchers with the Cedar Hill Police Department received high-priority 911 calls reporting an armed robbery in progress at the Chase Bank branch situated along the 200 block of North U.S. Highway 67 Service Road.
First responding patrol units flooded the service road corridor and secured the immediate exterior perimeter.

According to preliminary findings released by the Cedar Hill Police Department, the adult male suspect breached the lobby armed with an edged weapon and approached the teller area, brandishing the knife while aggressively demanding cash from bank staff.
Recognizing an imminent threat of severe bodily harm or death directed at the employees, a customer who was legally carrying a firearm inside the bank drew their weapon and fired, striking the suspect.
