Welcome to Sunday Screencaps. With the Hall of Fame game on Thursday, this is the first edition of the 2026 season where we head into the week with an NFL game on the schedule.
Starting Thursday with my Carolina Panthers taking on the Arizona Cardinals in Canton, Ohio, we’re going to have football from now until February. That’s great news if you ask me.
I’m more than ready for the season. The Panthers ended their playoff drought in true Panthers fashion and despite losing in the Wild Card round, I’m hopeful the team is going to be better than last season’s version.

You know who’s also ready for the season? Claire Kittle. The 49ers WAG and Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model just dominated a girls trip. The veteran knows all about a training camp bikini trip before the preseason arrives.
Claire also knows about the grind and the hustle required for an NFL season. She shows up every week, every single season.
This season isn’t going to be any different whether her husband is ready to go at the start of the regular season or not. She will be.

George Kittle is recovering from a torn Achilles and started training camp this season on the 49ers PUP list. He’s hoping to be ready by the time Week 1 of the regular season arrives.
You can’t help but root for the Kittles. It doesn’t matter if you’re a 49ers fan or not. They’re good for the game.
Evidently, this jet ski influencer passed out and ran into a dock
A viral video showing a man riding a jet ski then passing out performing a stunt called a “nose ride” looks like AI. That’s the first thing I thought when I watched it.
Not because Dillan Stapler, a 32-year-old jet ski influencer, passed out on his jet ski, but because he then slams into a dock and someone ends up being launched between two of the posts on the dock.
His buddy riding alongside him and recording it all seems to think he’s pretending to be asleep at first. He starts to get concerned about Dillan when his warnings are ignored.
Here’s the viral footage of the crash and his rescue after he was sent flying through the air before landing in the water.
According to Dillan, this is a move he’s done a million times and he’s not sure what went wrong this time. He doesn’t remember any of it.
His follow-up on the apparent real accident shows the damage the crash into the dock did to his jet ski. He explains he has some repairs to pay for and passing along some safety tips to all the weekend warriors out there.
Probably the most important tip was to not try the stunts he and his pals perform. Jet ski stunts go sideways, even for the professionals.

Thanks for the support. I have to be honest. It is a lot of work scouting “Insta talent.” But it’s work I feel is important work. Work that is a part of what helped build Screencaps into the juggernaut it has become over the years.
As a guy who has been known to enjoy a burnt hot dog or two from time to time, I don’t mind hot dogs of all kinds. Burned included.
Meat and New SC Rule suggestion

Every publication and broadcast outfit has its own internal style guide – a list of exceptions to whatever industry style guide they’re using – AP, Chicago, NYT.
May I suggest an addendum to the Outkick Style Guide: When readers – such as Gen X Warren M in Florida – include photos of cocktails with their meat photos, they MUST include a description of the drink.
It’s hard to tell from his photo, but it looks like it might be a Manhattan (bourbon or rye, sweet vermouth, bitters, cherry).

Regarding the comment from the Midwesterner about not wanting to give Floridian sympathy. I’d argue a lot of the Florida memes are a lot like that Instagram profile, Midwest vs Everyone – just funny memes and truths. Floridians don’t want sympathy, but it’s funny we sometimes get deep freezes.
