Lindsey Graham’s Funeral Was A Gift Of War

Lindsey Graham’s Funeral Was A Gift Of War

The funeral of Lindsey Graham, an infamous war-mongering senator, was full of more “gifts” and a celebration of war. In fact, Vladimir Zelensky, Ukraine’s ruler, and Benjamin Netanyahu, Israel’s ruler, led a procession at United States Senator Lindsey Graham’s funeral service.

Zelensky described Graham as a “true friend” of the war-loving Ukraine.

As for Netanyahu, Graham was also a close friend and ally, having a habit of cozing up to countries hell-bent on being in a constant state of war. In fact, Graham bragged earlier this year about “coaching [Netanyahu] on how to lobby [Trump] for action” against Iran. In additional video footage released by the Wall Street Journal on Sunday, Graham can be seen speaking to Netanyahu by phone, telling the Israeli prime minister that he was “going to try to get him to join with y’all in Lebanon, to maybe fly some with you.”

Graham is well known for his constant demands for involvement in conflicts and war, and the desire for more funding to use more military force around the globe. His legacy will match the theme of his funeral.

As RT put it:

Graham’s legacy is one of constant agitation for US involvement in foreign wars. At the time of his death, Graham – who in 2022 called for the assassination of Russian President Vladimir Putin – was working on an anti-Russian sanctions bill, and had just returned from Kiev, where he toured a drone factory and apparently expressed glee that the weaponry there would be used to kill Russians. –RT

On Sunday, the Wall Street Journal published video footage of Graham reacting to the opening strikes of the US-Israeli war on Iran in February. “I almost cried,” the Republican lawmaker said in the footage. “I mean, like, how long have we been pushing this? It’s here. I talked with Trump this morning. Holy Jack. It’s here. It’s the best thing I’ve ever done.”

US ruler Donald Trump also made comments about Graham’s war mongering during the funeral. Trump repeatedly referred to the South Carolina Senator’s enthusiasm for conflict. “He was extremely hawkish,” Trump told mourners. “He never saw a war that he didn’t like…he wanted it for the good of our country.”

The horrific “gift” of war has been handed to the American public, and yet we don’t want it.  This was a disturbing display of death and destruction, and it felt more like a bad propagandized plot for a dystopian movie, not a real funeral. Unfortunately, until we have people unwilling to obey these sociopaths, we will continue to have war.
