We Knife Co. Hull is a Brand New Limited Piece

We Knife Co. Hull is a Brand New Limited Piece

A hefty number of limited editions are arriving from We Knife Co. right now, including both returning pieces and brand new models. Today’s subject, the Hull, falls into the latter category, and turns in big knife performance with a cool retro military aesthetic.

The Hull is an interesting mix of design elements. First, there are the military and tactical characteristics. Its drop point blade is 3.89 inches long – a hefty piece of super steel to be sure, allowing it to land in the center of the large EDC-tactical knife-hard use work knife Venn diagram. The tapering handle looks like the hull of a ship or a bomb, and the big star embossed on the butt end brings to mind mid-20th century American military hardware – the same aesthetic ground tilled by knives like the CRKT Homefront.

The camo color scheme on this version is another military aesthetic element

Then there is the modern, super-streamlined, almost techy aspect of the Hull. The show side scale exhibits no visible hardware – even the pivot screw is configured to look decorative rather than mechanical. The sculpted titanium pocket clip, custom milled to match the visual elements of the handle scales, has hidden hardware. Moreover, the flipper, one and only deployment method for the Hull, is very lower profile in both open and closed positions.

The Hull, as mentioned above, is a limited model. All three variations are serially numbered, and once they’re gone, there’s no saying when, if ever, it’ll be back on the primary market. This is something that We Knife Co. does occasionally, and the Hull is one of several models in a rush of limited edition projects the company is rolling out as we speak – more coverage to come on some of the Hull’s siblings early next week!
