Shining Bright with the Compact EO6R Pro RG Flashlight

Fenix Lighting delivers big with a small flashlight that offers a truly hard-to-believe amount of useful features and extraordinary power. This Jack-of-all-trades comes in the form of the compact Fenix EO6R Pro RG Flashlight. At less than five inches long and just over an inch in width, I set out to explore all the benefits it has to offer. Afterward, I made my determination whether it was all practical necessities or just some bloated filler.

Although it may be cliché to say, the small footprint of the EO6R Pro RG Flashlight holds a staggering number of lighting features. The unit boasts an incredible nineteen lighting modes. These include five spotlight levels, five floodlight levels, strobe, UV, red glow, green laser, and five distinct color modes.

I was eager to experience all of these. Multiple control switches, an anti-roll body, and impact resistance add to this compact light’s amenities. Additionally, a battery indicator light and low-voltage warning signal round out this unit’s subtle additions.

Ease of Use when in the Field

Being that the rectangular design of the EO6R Pro RG Flashlight fit squarely within my palm, access to the function buttons was not a problem in the least. My thumb easily found the top-positioned on/off button, as well as the large center button (that also doubles for the color-changing 3D ring light).

At the rear of the unit was another switch. This one acted as a secondary on/off button. Dual switches offer easy operation, no matter if you carry the flashlight in hand or position the unit to hang around your neck (with the included lanyard).

There was a red and a green button on the side of the unit. These two corresponded to the unit’s green laser and red ambient light, respectively. It couldn’t get easier with their activation. I only had to hold the button for a few seconds to turn it on, and the same two seconds to turn it off.

Lighting Mode Usefulness

Transitioning between spotlight and floodlight mode with the EO6R Pro RG Flashlight was easy with the unit’s one-button operation. From there, I toggled throughout the five levels of brightness for each mode. Initially, I thought five would be overkill, but surprisingly, each brightness level was distinct.

I tested it in a totally dark room. At its lowest level, non-invasive light was perfect for viewing small items, such as keys or my wallet. From there, the brightness increased with each button click until it reached its maximum setting. At that stage, just about the entire room was illuminated. The handheld unit delivered far more light than I would have imagined.

Battery Life and Recharging

The EO6R Pro RG Flashlight came out of the box with a partial charge. I used the included USB-C charger and plugged it into a nearby wall receptacle. The low battery indicator light displayed a bright red color. Then, within about half an hour, a green light indicated it was fully charged.

Throughout my entire testing session, I used all lighting modes under long, steady use. The battery delivered maximum output the entire time with no signs of its power draining or its multiple lights fading. The specs of the EO6R’s battery life state that it offers a maximum runtime of 111 hours on Eco mode. Naturally, I was using all power levels, but it still provided me with hours of steady, uninterrupted light.

Performs Big in its Small Frame

Overall, this flashlight does what it was made to do. It offers incredible power out of its small shell. In that aspect, it gets high marks from me. Personally, it’s a bit too small for me to hold comfortably. But over time, I adjusted accordingly.

Its numerous brightness settings allowed me to find the perfect level for my needs, which is also rare in the current market trend of only low, medium, and high settings on many other flashlights. I would probably not use many of the specialty modes, such as the UV or green laser, but I’m glad they’re there in case the need may arise.

At $84.95, you get a lot of flashlight for your money. The sheer number of features and the power it offers make the EO6R Pro RG Flashlight a smart choice, and one you should definitely pick up.
