Trijicon has made a name for itself in the optics world for a reason. They produce real-world hard-use products that are designed to run regardless of the conditions. While they have a number of excellent options at our disposal, one of my favorite products they make is the SRO. The Trijicon SRO (Specialized Reflex Optic) is a top-loading red dot style sight designed primarily for pistols. It features a large, circular field of view for fast target acquisition and easy dot tracking. Not too long ago, they released a green dot version. Now they are expanding that line. Trijicon has announced a new 2.5 MOA, Green Dot version of the popular SRO reflex sight.

The new model will be available in Black and Coyote Brown anodized finishes. Designed for competitive and target shooting applications, the Trijicon SRO (Specialized Reflex Optic) features a large field of view and a clean, crisp aiming dot. This helps shooters find the dot quickly, track it easily, and improve both accuracy and speed.

Why Green?

Green dot sights take advantage of the human eye’s peak sensitivity to green wavelengths, making them appear brighter and easier to acquire in daylight. Even at lower brightness settings—prolonging battery life. They maintain visibility in bright conditions, resist washout, and perform better in fog, haze, or against complex backgrounds. Green is easier on the eyes, reducing strain during prolonged use. It also provides a clearer aiming point for many with astigmatism or red-green color blindness. In both low-light and high-glare environments, green delivers vivid contrast and detail. As a result, users see quicker target acquisition and sustained accuracy.

The SRO is built for fast, user-friendly performance, with easy windage and elevation adjustments. It features intuitive controls with manual and automatic LED brightness modes. It shares the same footprint as the RMR for easy mounting on many red-dot-ready pistols. Additionally, it features a top-loading CR2032 battery for simple replacement. The optic is housed in rugged 7075-T6 forged aluminum for hard use.
