Check the Springfield Armory website, and you will end up scrolling for a long while. The number of solid firearms they have is impressive, to say the least. Of all the guns they produce, one of my favorites has been the Garrison 1911. Because of that, I was excited to hear that Springfield has expanded that line with the 1911 Garrison Target in .45 and 9mm.

1911 Garrison Target in .45 and 9mm – Performance Enhanced

The 1911 Garrison Target comes with fully adjustable rear sights. Featuring hot salt-blued carbon steel and wood, these pistols combine heirloom-quality construction with the modern features today’s shooters demand.

The .45 ACP and 9mm 1911 Garrison Target pistols take the classic and proven 1911 design and add a high-quality adjustable rear sight for competition-minded applications. The result is a rock-solid 1911 with forged steel construction, modern upgrades, and the strength to provide a lifetime of service.

Adjustable Rear Sight

To ensure maximum downrange accuracy, the sturdily built steel adjustable rear sight unit offers full windage and elevation adjustments. In addition, its rear face is black and serrated to help disperse sunlight and ensure a solid sight picture. The front sight features a high-visibility white dot.  A set of attractively checkered thinline wood grips ensures a solid hold on the pistol.

As with all Springfield Armory 1911 pistols, the new Garrison Target models in .45 ACP and 9mm feature forged steel construction in their carbon steel slides and frames, ensuring durability and strength. The 5” barrel, constructed of forged stainless steel, is match-grade for maximum downrange accuracy.

Both the .45 ACP and 9mm versions come with a high-quality steel magazine, with the blued steel .45 magazine offering a 7+1 capacity. The 9mm magazine, constructed of stainless steel, offers a 9+1 capacity. MSRP for both models is $999.
