First, thank you for taking the time to check out this article. Some questions may be “what the heck is a Johnny Slicks” and “Why am I reading about them?”
I’m so glad you asked. Johnny Slicks is made in America, sourced in America, and made by American workers. Johnny Slicks is a veteran-owned company that supplies us, as consumers, with the best products for our skin and hair. Admittedly, I might be a little biased( ok, yes, I’m biased) as I am not just writing about them. I support this company 100%.
I don’t have the space in this article to express the amazing benefits I’ve gotten from this company, the friends I’ve made, and the positive impact I’ve seen on people who use these American-made products. Sooooo, let’s meet Johnny Slicks!

The Beginning ofJohnny Slicks
JohnnySlicks was started by Johnny Raushi. Johnny Raushi joined the Marines in 2015. Johnny’s hair started thinning in 2016. Johnny started attending barber school, and in 2017, Johnny perfected his first pomade (this is where the story starts getting awesome). In 2018, Johnny became a partner with Nick Koumalatsos. In 2020, Johnny Slicks had its biggest year ever, and in 2021, Johnny Slicks was named “oil-based pomade” one of the year’s best grooming items for men by Forbes. Ok, as you can already see from this incredibly brief background, the essence of Johnny Slicks is to find healthy solutions to a problem that affects millions of men and women every day.
Now, for the fun stuff: here’s where you get to hear from the man himself, ladies and gentlemen. Let me introduce y’all to Johnny Raushi, Founder and President of Johnny Slicks.

SS: Why did you create Johnny Slicks?
JS: I created Johnny Slicks because I had a problem myself. My hair was falling out, and my skin was in terrible condition. The products I was using at the time were filled with chemicals and were making me sick. So, the solution was to create my own healthy grooming products made with ingredients I could pronounce.
Once I formulated my own products and my skin and hair began healing, I realized I wasn’t the only one suffering from and being poisoned by big corporations’ grooming products. So I began making my products for other people, and once they started experiencing the benefits, they told their friends.

SS: Johnny Slicks is a veteran-owned company. First, thank you for your service. Second. Please tell us a little about what it means to you to be a veteran-owned company.
JS: I have a 2-part answer to that question. First, being veteran-owned, to me, means “people over policy”. It’s a phrase that I use often. I separated from the Marines as a Corporal (E-4), meaning I wasn’t yet drowned in policy and procedures. It was always with my team and always working with my hands on the mission. I understand the strength of having core values and investing time in my team.
Our core values are adaptability, transparent communication, addicted to growth, community, ownership, and discipline. We hire and fire team members based on those core values. To me, people are everything. People are what make this business so great. And people are what will take our business to the next level. And second, being veteran-owned means the business owners are willing to sacrifice for their dream and serve their people. It’s in our DNA, sacrifice and serve.

SS. What’s one thing that you have done to make sure the business keeps running
JS: The biggest thing is pursuing uncomfortability. We started this business with $400. Became a 6-figure business within 1 year. In year 3, it became a 7-figure business. And in 2024, we became an 8-figure-a-year business. In 2025, we were listed as one of the fastest-growing companies in America. NONE of that happens without becoming uncomfortable because growth is naturally uncomfortable as it requires you to enter the unknown.
Taking risks has always led to growth in some way or another. If the risk works out for our benefit, great! If it doesn’t go the way we expected, also great! That’s how we learn what not to do. Business, like life, is all about experimenting and learning from the results. If it worked, replicate it. If it didn’t work, find the flaws, change what you can, and try again. This system is why we are successful and why we will continue to grow.
SS: What sacrifices have you and ownership made for Johnny Slicks to get to the point that is now
JS: Well, when I was in the beginning stages of Johnny Slicks, I spent every penny I had on

ingredients, trying to create a formula that would promote healthy hair growth and prevent future hair loss. I was separating from the Marine Corps and worked part-time at a gas station and a barbershop. Once I discovered this purpose and passion for creating grooming products that would heal my body and others’, it was the only thing I focused on. I would sell my plasma at our local plasma center and pick up change in the gas station parking lot to continue buying supplies to experiment with.
At one point, my cell phone and electricity were turned off, and my car was repossessed for nonpayment. I had roughly $11,000 in charged-off credit card debt (meaning the collection agency had given up on me). For me, there was only one thing that wasn’t worth sacrificing, and that was my marriage. Luckily, my wife, Rebecca, not only supported my vision but she was right there with me, selling plasma and having ramen noodle dinners with nothing but love and the belief that I can do it.
SS: Can women use Johnny Slicks?
JS: Absolutely! Since we only use clean ingredients, the grooming products can be safely used on anyone, men, women, and children. These products have no clue who is using them. They don’t know the person’s race, gender, or age. They just know how to do their job. Just be careful! I often hear that men’s products are stolen once their wives start using them, because they instantly fall in love with them!

SS: Hands-down, what is your number one best-selling product, Johnny Slicks has created
JS: Our Shampoo. It is, by far, the best-selling product we craft. The top 5 products we make are Shampoo, Oil-Based Pomade, Clay-Based Pomade, Body Wash, and Beard Wash (which can be used as a face wash). If you’ve never tried one of our products, I recommend our Beast Wash Shower Set (shampoo, conditioner, and body wash) as well as one of our Pomades. We make 3 different pomades to fit whatever hairstyle you’re looking for. Oil-Based Pomade – low hold, high shine. Clay-Based Pomade – high hold, matte finish. And Water-Based Pomade- high shine, high hold.
Once you try a Johnny Slicks product, you become a part of our community, so welcome! Oh! Also, I legally have to say this. Johnny Slicks is NOT liable for any injuries or pregnancies arising from the aromas of our fragrances. Stay Slick! In closing, I’d like to thank Johnny for taking the time (with everything the company has going on, time is a valued commodity) to answer these questions.
I am hopeful that after reading this article, you’ve come away with two things. One, that Johnny Slicks is a pretty cool company to support, and two, that you realize how important your skin and hair are, and what you put on your skin and hair should have only natural organic ingredients and not a bunch of things that you can’t pronounce.
Take care, and as they say at Johnny Slicks, “Stay Slick.“

Affiliate links create a financial incentive for writers to promote certain products, which can lead to biased recommendations. This blurs the line between genuine advice and marketing, reducing trust in the content.
