Rihanna Mansion Shooting: Suspect With AR-15 Detained After Daylight Attack, 10 Shots Fired At Residence

Pop star Rihanna was inside her Beverly Hills mansion on Sunday afternoon when a 30-year-old woman fired approximately 10 rounds at the residence with an AR-15-style rifle. The suspect, who fled the scene in a white Tesla, was captured in a mall parking garage following an LAPD helicopter pursuit; no injuries were reported.

LOS ANGELES, CA — The ultra-exclusive enclave of Beverly Hills was rocked by gunfire Sunday afternoon in what appears to be a targeted attack on the residence of global superstar Rihanna. At approximately 1:15 p.m. on March 8, 2026, a 30-year-old female suspect allegedly pulled up to the singer’s Beverly Glen property and unleashed a volley of shots from a vehicle parked across from the mansion’s gate.

Law enforcement sources confirmed that Rihanna was home at the time of the shooting, though it remains unclear if her partner, A$AP Rocky, or their three children were present. While multiple rounds struck the exterior of the home and a vehicle parked out front, at least one bullet reportedly penetrated a wall of the mansion. Fortunately, no injuries were reported in the incident.

High-Speed Pursuit and Weapon Recovery

The suspect fled the scene in a white Tesla, heading south on Coldwater Canyon Drive. LAPD radio dispatch indicated that a helicopter quickly located the vehicle and tracked it into a nearby mall parking garage. Patrol units swarmed the structure, pulling over the Tesla and detaining the woman without further incident.

Inside the vehicle, officers recovered the firearm used in the attack, which was described by investigators as an AR-15-style rifle. The suspect’s identity and a potential motive have not yet been released, but the FBI and LAPD are working to determine if the shooter was aware of the home’s famous occupant.

Celebrity Security in the Crosshairs

This brazen daylight shooting underscores the growing security challenges faced by high-profile figures in Los Angeles. Despite the property’s significant security layers, an attacker was still able to discharge a firearm from a public roadway.

Safety Tip: For high-profile individuals and those in high-threat environments, your home’s exterior “skin” is your last line of physical defense. While many modern mansions utilize reinforced glass, standard residential walls provide almost zero protection against rifle-caliber rounds. If you are ever inside a structure when it is targeted by gunfire, immediately drop to the floor and move toward a central “hardened” room with thick masonry or interior walls. As a firearm owner, your home defense plan should include a “safe room” that is stocked with a trauma kit and a communication device that is independent of your home’s Wi-Fi.
