While 2011s have taken center stage in the market over the last couple of years, there is still excitement to be found in the single-stack 1911 space. The 10-8 Master Class 1911 may be the most exciting development in the factory 1911 market in recent history.
Hilton Yam of 10-8 Performance has partnered with Springfield Armory to once again bring a specialized production 1911 to market. While the first collaboration between 10-8 Performance and Springfield Armory resulted in a limited run of pistols, this new partnership promises a standard production offering.

The 10-8 Master Class is classified as a Red Dot ready AOS cut “TRP-grade” 1911 within the Springfield catalog, meaning it features a fitted slide, frame, and barrel. The pistol also incorporates the now-iconic slide serrations that debuted on one of Yam’s full-house custom builds, known as “Echo.” Inspired by Paul Liebenberg, these serrations are designed to reduce wear on the firing-hand thumb during extended range sessions. Chambered in both 9mm and 45acp.

In addition to the serrations, the 10-8 Master Class includes a slightly modified flat-faced 10-8 trigger to streamline production, Hilton Yam’s signature scoop grips, a 10-8 slide stop, and a 10-8 bull barrel guide rod plug.

Developed in partnership with Hilton Yam, founder of 10-8 Performance and retired FBI Special Agent, SWAT team member and Principle Firearms Instructor, the 10-8 Performance Master Class 1911 reflects decades of professional end-user experience. Built on a hand-selected forged carbon steel frame and slide with a forged bull barrel, each pistol is precisely fit and blended. Outfitted with select 10-8 Performance components and the Agency Optic System for modern red-dot mounting, it is offered in 9mm and .45 ACP to meet the demands of professional use.
