Farley Slipjoint Gets Dressed up in Full Titanium

Farley Slipjoint Gets Dressed up in Full Titanium

In continuing to flesh out their existing model lines, GiantMouse has returned to the Farley, originally released in 2022, to give it a new handle material. This time around the modern slipjoint is landing with full titanium scales in the Farely V1 trim.

When GiantMouse first revealed the Farley back in 2022, it filled a gap in the company’s lineup that we always expected them to address: the modern slipjoint concept. Since its inception, GiantMouse has emphasized an aesthetic that blends time-honored, rustic principles and styling with 21st century know-how and conceits. This particular fusion plays perfectly into the aesthetic and utility considerations of the modern non-locking knife. Thus the Farley became a perfectly logical and permanent addition to the GiantMouse family.

The loopover clip can jump to either side.

This new Farley V1 – the “V1” means it is bolsterless; the bolster’d V2 came later on – features full titanium scales, gently contoured and matte finished. Titanium, although much more common today than it was a decade ago, is still often sought after for aesthetic, rather than performance-related, reasons – but remember that it is a weight-saving material too, and it keeps this incarnation of the V2 nice and sprightly at 2.2 oz.

Now, when the Farley first appeared, its blade was made from M390; when the V2 showed up later on, it was sporting Elmax steel instead. Now this second version of the V1 falls into line with its bolster-bearing brethren and shows up to the party with Elmax. These two steels are not identical, but fall into the same general (high) performance bracket as power metallurgy stainlesses of relatively recent vintage. For the kind of things the 2.75-inch Farley V2 spear point is needed to do, it’s a great fit.

The Farley V2 in titanium is available now.
