Gazan Residents Cannot Afford To Flee The War

Gazan Residents Cannot Afford To Flee The War

Residents in Gaza are mainly living in poverty and trapped in a war zone. Civilians are facing impossible choices: stay and risk death or flee to so-called safe zones that are also bombed, with relocation costs exceeding $3,000 for many families.

Israel’s “Operation Gideon’s Chariots II” has already displaced 250,000 Gazans in a month, yet 900,000 refuse or cannot leave, fearing permanent displacement like the 1948 Nakba, according to a report by Natural News.

Designated humanitarian zones like Mawasi are already overcrowded. They are also unsanitary and often destroyed by Israeli strikes. Humanitarian zones have been hit by over 110 airstrikes, with no hospitals, clean water, or electricity.

Israel’s latest offensive, “Operation Gideon’s Chariots II,” is designed to fully depopulate northern Gaza, building on a months-long campaign that has already killed over 65,000 Palestinians in two years. The military has deployed paratroopers, tanks, and explosive-packed drones, while dropping leaflets warning civilians: leave or be killed. The United Nations (UN) has confirmed that 250,000 Gazans have fled Gaza City in the past month alone, with 60,000 displaced in just 72 hours as Israeli troops advance. Yet 900,000 residents still remain, according to Gaza’s Government Media Office.

French President Emmanuel Macron has announced that Paris has formally recognized the Palestinian state. Macron made the comments delivered at a UN summit on a two-state solution in New York on Monday.

Recognizing Palestinian statehood is the “only solution that will allow for Israel to live in peace,” Macron said, calling the move a “defeat for Hamas.” “We must do everything within our power to preserve the very possibility of a two-state solution, Israel and Palestine living side by side in peace and security,” he added.

The elimination of Hamas has been Israel’s goal since the beginning of the war.
