Demko Knives has brought their penchant for super tough, dependable folding knives into an entirely new genre with an expansion to the Nano-Shark line called the Razor-Shark. This version implements the time-tested replaceable utility blade concept into a thoroughly Demko chassis, complete with the Shark Lock.
The standard, non-utility blade Nano-Shark is itself a pretty new member in the Demko Knives family. As the name would imply, it is the smallest in the shop’s flagship line of folders, with a stubby but strong blade that just barely noses over the 2-inch mark lengthwise. Held in place by the Shark Lock, the signature Demko locking mechanism, the little blade punched well above its weight in terms of rigidity and, thus, chore-tackling capabilities.
Now the Razor-Shark, in lieu of a standard knife blade, has a folding arm that accepts disposable razor blades. This opens up all sorts of new possibilities: not only can users swap in different kinds of edge configurations (serrated or plain edge), but they can throw the Razor-Shark into some truly hard work without fear of permanent damage; if the edge gets busted up during some gnarly cutting, simply throw it away, screw in a new one, and keep going.
As befitting of something attuned to hard work, the Razor-Shark’s handle – more or less identical to the one used on the standard Nano-Shark models – is wide, grippy, and sturdy. Between the GRN scales the Shark Lock mechanism is housed: this spine-situated lock is the lifeblood of the Demko Knives brand, and at this point has accrued many accolades for its rigidity and reliability since its debut in 2020 on custom Andrew Demko pieces.
The Razor-Shark is available now.
