Charlotte Carjacking Suspect Shoots Woman As She Waited In Drive-Thru

A woman was seriously injured during a carjacking at a Cook Out in north Charlotte early Friday. Police are investigating the incident, which involved three men attempting to steal her vehicle in the drive-thru.

A witness informed officers that three men approached the 23-year-old woman while she was in the drive-thru line of the restaurant. They attempted to steal her 2020 Chevrolet Sonic. During the confrontation, one of the suspects shot the woman, causing severe injuries.

The victim was immediately transported to a nearby hospital, where she is receiving treatment for her serious injuries. The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD) has not released any details about the suspects and no arrests have been made at this time.
