Hornady Earns ISO 9001:2015 Certification

Hornady announced this month that it has achieved International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9001:2015 Certification for Quality Management Systems (QMS) from the prestigious group’s Systems Certification Body. The famed ammunition manufacturer’s production facility achieved the level by displaying decision making based on solid evidence—both ongoing and historic—a process-driven approach to manufacturing, engagement of staff members, and solid and versatile leadership, as well as a variety of other assets that, ultimately, improve the cartridges and components modern shooters use.

“One of the keys to success here at Hornady is a commitment to strong quality control” said Matt Spencer, Hornady compliance director. “By implementing ISO quality principles, any potential customers can quickly identify that we have put in the effort to ensure we are producing the finest quality products.”

ISO 9001 is the internationally recognized standard for QMS. It is the most widely used manufacturing yardstick in the world, with more than 1.1 million certificates issued to organizations in 178 countries. In simple terms, ISO 9001 certification provides the basis for effective processes and effective people to deliver an effective product or service time after time. Meeting those standards ensures the company maintains a focus on consistency, quality and improvement.

ISO is a non-governmental, independent organization with a membership that includes 169 national standards bodies. It was officially established in 1947, with its primary focus at the time on rebuilding the manufacturing and service industries after World War II. Today it’s headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland, where its diverse membership represents a vast expertise and knowledge from around the globe.

Founded in 1949, Hornady Manufacturing Company is a family-owned business headquartered in Grand Island, NE. It proudly manufactures products that are made in the United States and a world leader in bullet, ammunition, reloading tool, accessory and security product design and manufacturing.
